In order to do a proper review of all of Children of Earth, I'd have to watch the whole thing again.

That isn't going to happen for some time for several reasons.

However, I do have two questions related to Day Two and Jack.

And Torchwood fandom has exploded.

There are no words right now.

Just finished reading the Torchwood tie-in novel Almost Perfect.

Generally I avoid books written about TV shows (I have one Angel book that was a dollar and looked interesting), which is odd considering the fandom habit, but Almost Perfect seemed to be if not highly recommended in Torchwood fandom, at least seems to be recommended reading if the number of fics written based on it are any indication.

Massive spoilers for the novel under the cut, and small ones for Torchwood in general, I think.

Wow. Talk about dysfunction.

And that's what they *showed*. What the hell was left on the editing room floor?!

It's kinda freaking me out that the Atlanta pitcher is named Tommy Hanson, because I keep getting a mental image of Tommy "Gay For Pay" Hansen. I know he likes American football, but I can't imagine him playing baseball.

So, NBC is airing Merlin, a fact I wish I'd known before 8. The Yankee game ran past 8 so I didn't even check what else was on, but then because the golf ran late I was able to catch Merlin not *too* far in, I don't think (first time a sports run-over has ever been useful! FOX shows *always* get bumped because of sports running late--wound up killing Futurama).

I just watched Snakes on a Plane on FX, and liked it a lot.

Did you guys see this about the girl who got 56 stars tattooed on the left side of her face "by mistake"? Crazy.

Apparently the artist will pay to have some removed.

I'm not sure how one "falls asleep" while being tattooed...

I actually thing it looks kind of cool. But I might warm up to tattoos with small ones elsewhere rather than go whole hog on my *face*.

I've seen this twice in the last few days. But.

The "inner ear" is not just the part right inside the external ear (or "pinna").

The inner ear is the part way inside your ear, where sound is actually created from soundwaves. In between the outer ear and the inner ear is the middle ear, where the bones that allow you hear are (incus, stapes, and malleus).

So in this sex tip from Cosmo, "Then run your pinkie along the crease where his ear connects to his head and ever-so-slowly prod the middle of his sexually susceptible inner ear with the tip of your tongue," do you have any idea of the mental image that gives me? If your tongue is in your partner's inner ear you've not only deafened him, you probably ruptured something else important, too. Good on you!

There was also this tip: "A guy's prostate — the walnut-size gland under his bladder — is the ultimate magic button to push if you want to blow his mind in bed. To tantalize it, partway through oral sex or intercourse, rest two fingers against the swath of skin between his testicles and anus."

Anyone else annoyed by referring to the prostate as the "male G-spot"? Like he doesn't have enough down there to be stimulated.

Also, get a thesaurus. I think they don't really mean "tantalize" there. (also, we get three technical terms, anus, testicles, and prostate, yet the perineum is described as a "swath of skin." *face palm*)

I was discussing the concept of "fanon" with a friend yesterday and I was going to use examples from Smallville fic.

And then I totally blanked as to what's fanon in SV fic. I know Lex's education has a couple pieces, but I couldn't remember specifics because I haven't written Lex in a long time.

I'm thinking of older fic, since I read more then, but is there anything new? Or what about in non-Clex pairings?

Was anything fanon that then became canon? I feel like I'm behind, but I don't know why.

Just finished watching Batman (1989).

It's too bad it's so very tainted by the '80s (Prince?), but maybe that helps explain Joker's purple suit...

But otherwise? Yeah. Awesome movie. It takes a while to get started, but once Nicholson is the Joker and Vicki gets with Bruce, it's just so fun.

Danny Elfman is a genius. It's really a shame people don't know who he is. Or even pay attention to any composer other than John Williams. Music is SO important to films, the same importance as the cinematography. It sets the mood, it draws you in, or it can really take you out if it sucks. (and remember this guy? Oh yes. :D And there's an Indiana Jones one put up last year, speaking of John Williams)

I'm a little confused as to why Bruce wears glasses, but I suppose there's some reason. Maybe like why Clark does, but why wear them at home?

At least the Batsuit doesn't have nipples! And I know people hate on Robin, but I do like Chris O'Donnell. But damn you, Joel Schumacher.

According to the IMDB Batman lead to Britain creating the 12 rating--not sure what that is, but I assume it's like PG-13, since people rate Torchwood fic as "12."

And this made me think of the PG-13 rating having to be created for Gremlins, and then I saw in the FAQs that the British RAF created the term "gremlin." So... RAF... Gremlins... Jack... Torchwood... Any fic with that specific theme?

And I question my attention span... How many things did I talk about in this post that was supposed to be about Batman (1989)? The Internet kills attention spans, when you can click to a dozen different ideas in seconds.

As part of the Clark Meme going around, I decided to watch Hug and Leech.

Now, Hug was one of the two season 1 eps I missed first time around for whatever reason. As a result of this, I was horribly confused when I got into fandom and people referred to a "Dr. Toby" and I had no idea who that was. Obviously he was canon, since many people talked about him, but I just had never seen the ep.
